Yin Class – Yin is all about long holds done in silence. There is no perfect pose, you are encouraged to be in total comfort with no muscular strain, to constantly shift into place and position, and then, ultimately, to do the pose without moving. The goal of Yin is to minimize the use of muscle tension and to stretch the fascia, the deep connective tissue, the meridian highways of the body, to stimulate the flow of Chi. Typically, it involves seated positions held for 2-5 minutes.
Ashtanga Class – Students are introduced to the breathing style and fundamentals of Ashtanga; a yoga practice developed by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. Ashtanga is typically a dynamic, heat building practice that focuses on strength, concentration and flexibility.
